Bible MemoryWe will begin with our Bible Memory on Thursday, Sept 12!
We will be starting with a collection of verses called “Romans Road.” These verses are significant to us as a class because they outline very clearly how we are saved by grace alone. They also show how very simple salvation is, and how immensely wonderful Jesus death on the cross was. We will focus on Romans Road with the hopes that every student is able to easily recite all 4 verses. We will also be doing a quick review of the Books of the Bible. After Christmas we will be shifting our focus to 11 key verses that centre around foundational biblical truths. Around April we will begin learning our Teaching for Transformation Verses. This year Bible Memory will be spoken, not written. Students may also be asked to explain some of the significance of the verse. This is important because our goal this year is that the verses wouldn’t quickly be forgotten. In addition to receiving a grade, students will also earn "McIntyre Moola" for every verse they correctly recite. 1 verse=1 bill. You can download the Verse List HERE. Songs to go with Verses

Spelling
Spelling this year will happen every Friday of the week and will focus on 18 words. Each week of spelling has a different focus that will help us become confident spellers with a broad vocabulary.
Each student has been provided with a spelling book that they are to work on every morning when they get to their desks. These booklets will help familiarize them with the weekly words and provide quality practice. These booklets are provided for school use as they require lots of paper to print. However, if you would like one for home, please just shoot me an email and I will send one home with your child. |
